GRAY417C is a creative duo (Elisha Tawe and Mohamed Mussa) based between London and Amsterdam. The two artists have been in conversation through art, space and time for the better part of the last decade, interrogating the ways in which various disenfranchised groups and subcultures have and continue to be portrayed across various forms. Through this process they have created works that pull from the long and storied histories of African people and their diaspora, attempting to re-imagine the positionality of Blackness in art and media. GRAY417c’s mission is to assist in the uplifting, platforming and communication of stories from these groups. They communicate through a plethora of mediums, but film, photography and design are central to their practice.
